Battery condition

LOKI-Pack uses a traffic-light logic for battery inquiries: green for the standard path, yellow for the universal path and red for the quarantine path. The route depends on battery condition, available evidence and the relevant ADR packing instruction.
Green batteries
Low risk | Standard packaging path
For new and tested batteries with UN 38.3 testing and an available test summary. Required details include battery type, UN number, format, dimensions, weight, energy content, quantity and planned logistics process.

Yellow batteries
Medium risk | Universal packaging path
For take-back, recycling, prototypes or used, damaged or defective batteries that cannot be assigned to the green standard path. Required details include battery type, UN number where known, condition, damage pattern, dimensions, weight, energy content, quantity, packaging objective and planned transport or storage process.

Red batteries
High risk | Quarantine packaging path
For critically defective batteries, batteries with increased risk, critical warning signs or unclear transport suitability. The inquiry must include battery energy, battery type, cell/module/pack format, dimensions, weight, condition, damage pattern, known temperature or reaction abnormalities, quantity and planned handling.

Configuration
Four building blocks define the LOKI-Pack configuration.
The appropriate LOKI-Pack solution is built from size, inlay, labeling and optional digital integration. The suitable combination depends on battery condition, dimensions, weight, energy content, quantity, packing instruction and planned transport or storage process.
Size
S, M or L
The appropriate size is selected based on battery format, outer dimensions, weight, quantity, inlay setup and handling process. Specific internal and external dimensions are published only for approved LOKI-Pack variants.
Inlay
Standard, Universal or Safety
The inlay follows the battery condition and the relevant packing instruction: Standard for green batteries, Universal for yellow batteries and Safety for red batteries. It supports positioning, spacing, fixation and handling within the reviewed packaging configuration.
Labeling
Compliant labels and documentation
Labeling depends on the battery, condition, UN number, transport route and applicable regulation. Our removable label plates enables flexible labeling and compliant empty returns, where the label plate can just be turned around.
LOKI-Track
Digital integration
LOKI-Track can extend LOKI-Pack processes with asset information, status data, document access or guided workflows. Digital integration does not replace dangerous-goods assessment or legally responsible approval.
